Ancient Chinese civilization -- another seemingly boring blog??

Given that I have less than 4 days to finish reading 4 books borrowed from my college library, I dived down into the most wordy and difficult one -- Cambridge Illustrated History Of China (by Patricia Buckley Ebrey, 1st published in 1996). To my delight, this book has a flowy text that's easy to read, or perhaps because I am already somewhat familiar with some of the legends and info on dynasties it wrote about. What makes this book interesting is the information on the philosophical foundations of ancient China, which cannot be separated from the history of China in the first place, and the numerous coloured pictures showing the results of excavation of ancient tombs and artifacts.

Anyway, if anyone of you are interested about culture and civilization of China, this is a good read.
