Is it Art?

Recently I'm reading a book "But is it Art?" written by Cynthia Freeland, a book that gives a lively introduction about art and art theories. She discusses the relationship of art with various values and aspects of life.

It may not be as simple a read as what several people said in their testimonies on the book. But it is quite interesting, and it draws my attention away from the mundane and mechanical work towards the artistic part of life. I always think design and art has to complement one another if they have to be relevant to our lives. Thus I think it's worthwhile to take some time to read and digest this book.
